First Quarter 2023:  The Challenging Early Years of The California Limited Part 1: 1892-1898 Seasons

This is a film clip made by Thomas Edison of the eastbound California Limited passing the station at Santa Anita, California, in early 1898.   Visible as the train passes are a 4-6-0 locomotive on the point followed by an 1896-built baggage-club-lounge car, a Barney & Smith diner, and three 1896-built 10-section, 2-drawing room Pullman sleepers.  Permission to post this film clip was kindly given by The Travel Film Archive, with our thanks.
